Partnerships for Children in Out of Home Care: Respectful Partnerships, Parent Partnership, and Trauma Sensitive Transitions
National best practice and evidence- based research supports the developing of supportive relationships amongst all child welfare partners as one of the most effective ways to improve outcomes and permanency for children. In recognition thereof, Florida’s legislation has worked to incorporate those principles and values into Florida law.
In 2020, Florida HB 1105 focused on developing respectful relationships amongst system partners, developing parent partnerships between birth parents and caregivers, and developing transition plans to support attachment and the developmental needs of children. This legislation unanimously passed and became effective July 1, 2020 in Florida Statute.
