Adult Safe House Certification
Overview
The Office of Licensing is responsible for the inspection, certification and regulation of adult safe houses throughout the state of Florida. The provision of adult safe house certification is governed by Chapter 402.881 of Florida Statutes. Certification is required to maintain a regulatory process to providers who operate residential programs serving international and domestic survivors of human trafficking.
Certification Requirements
In considering becoming a potential adult safe house provider, please review the following information:
- Introduction to Becoming an Adult Safe House
- Privilege & Certification System (PCS)
- The Privilege & Certification System provides a portal for providers to electronically register and apply to provide services as an adult safe house. The goal of this portal is to facilitate a central location where providers can manage all the documentation required by law to receive a certification. By maintaining this documentation in a central location, it will simplify the process of applying for recertification in the future. The PCS is a central location where providers can check on the status of their certification, track inspections and respond to corrective action plans
