Safe Space Domestic Violence Designation Training

This is an in-person event.
Faith-based communities are integral to a community’s response and prevention of domestic violence. Faith-based communities not only provide support for their community; they also facilitate optimal opportunities for impact across the lifespan from youth and kids’ programs, marital and partner groups, and groups for individuals to address various life challenges. People in crisis often connect with their faith and community leaders for support and guidance before reaching out to social service organizations, law enforcement, shelters, etc. When it comes to addressing domestic violence, faith communities are poised to make a high impact in the reduction of violence through positive lifestyle messaging, support of survivors and families, and holding perpetrators accountable for violent actions.
The Office of Domestic Violence offers the Safe Space Domestic Violence Designation Training. This training provides Florida’s faith and community leaders with an 8-hour, one full day training to receive the DV Leader Designation. This training is essential to prepare faith and community leaders for addressing Domestic Violence in their communities.
This training is a one-day free (no cost) training and an end-of-day graduation ceremony. The agenda will be sent to attendees before the training.
Attendance is limited and registration is required. Please select which training location and offering you are interested in.
