Suicide Prevention

If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, please call 988 (formerly 1-800-273-8255(TALK)). 988 is a 24/7, free, confidential counseling line that connections individuals to a trained specialist in suicide crisis intervention. One common misconception of the line is that people need to be suicidal to contact 988, yet that is not the case. Call, text, or chat 988 if you are feeling overwhelmed, upset, or worried about a suicidal loved one, and talk through the steps to take to feel better. More crisis support information is also available.
Suicide-related thoughts and behaviors are a major public health priority that impacts individuals, family-members, friends, and communities. As the fourteenth leading cause of death for all Floridians, prevention and intervention efforts are focused on decreasing risks associated with suicide and increasing coping mechanisms for individuals and their community.
Suicide Prevention Trainings
