Live Baker Act Training
The purpose of this training is to assist a variety of professionals regarding their responsibilities under the Florida Mental Health Act, including the appropriate initiation of voluntary and involuntary admission and discharge of people, in compliance with the law.
NOTE: Managing Entities are mentioned several times in the video of the live Baker Act training. The Florida Department of Children & Families has contracted with Managing Entities. When Martha Lenderman refers to Lutheran Services in the video she is referring to a managing entity. Additional information about managing entities may be found here: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/service-programs/samh/managing-entities/.
Martha Lenderman mentions PEMHS and MHC in this video. These are community mental health centers, both of which have publicly funded Baker Act receiving facilities (PEMHS in Pinellas County and MHC in Hillsborough County)
The statistics included in the presentation will not be up to date as time passes.
