Foster Care

Most of you reading this had parents who, while maybe not perfect, loved you, protected you, and provided for your needs. But every day in Florida children are removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment by their parents. No matter the circumstances, removing a child from their home generates even more trauma, confusion, and fear. Children cling to their caregivers and their home, even when it is not safe. But every child deserves to know and feel love, and that’s where you can make a difference.

Foster parents are highly skilled and respected members of a team who love and nurture children, support and mentor families, and strengthen their communities. Foster parents are committed, well-trained, patient, persistent and idealistic. Use the links on this page to find out more about fostering and how to become a foster parent.
