Department of Children and Families Announces New Communications Director
TALLAHASSEE— Joe Follick will be leaving DCF to take the top communications position at the Florida Department of Education effective Monday.
“Under Joe’s guidance, the Department has revitalized its image with a new logo, a rebranding campaign, a lively social media presence and a commitment to a transparent relationship with the media and our partners,” said DCF Secretary David Wilkins. “Joe helped us transform the agency's image to a position of respect in Florida and nationally. I will be forever grateful for his service. He will be a great asset for the Department of Education."
Follick came to DCF in October 2009 after a 17-year journalism career.
Alexis Lambert will begin as DCF’s Communications Director on May 6. Lambert is currently the communications director for Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and has previously served as press secretary for the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and the Agency for Workforce Innovation.
“Alexis has a wide range of experience and a track record of success in many areas of state government,” Wilkins said. “Her deep marketing and communications experience with the CFO's office will position her well to continue expanding this Department’s trend of proactive media and community involvement and represent our agency’s 12,000-plus employees and hundreds of business partners.”
