The Department and Children and Families Annual ACCESS Community Partner Conference
The USDA, DCF and community partners will share best practices to enhance service to Central Florida citizens
Orlando, FL - On Friday, November 2, 2012, the Department of Children and Families will host the ACCESS Community Partner Conference. The conference will welcome approximately 150 community partners from Seminole, Orange, Osceola and Brevard counties who assist Central Floridians every day with the application process for public assistance. The annual meeting began in 2006, as a way to provide the agency's partners with information regarding program enhancements and initiatives, with a common goal of improving service delivery to those in need in our communities. The most effective way to accomplish this is through developing and sustaining partnerships with the corporate, philanthropic, faith based and non-profit sectors.
The event will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church where the Central Region Managing Director, William D'Aiuto, will provide opening remarks. Southeastern Regional Administrator of the USDA, Food and Nutrition Services, Don Arnette, will be the keynote speaker.
"Florida accomplishes wonderful things with its network of more than 3,200 partners," said Arnette "Florida's community partners help the state reach people in need and allow potential program participants to access many services at a location in their community saving them time and effort."
The following agencies will host workshops at the event: ACCESS Florida, Workforce Central Florida, USDA Food and Nutrition Services, DCF Refugee Services and KidCare.
