DCF Rebranding, Annual Report Receive Awards

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Children and Families Thursday received two Image Awards from the Florida Public Relations Association Capital Chapter. The awards recognized the agency's "My Florida Families" rebranding and the 2012 annual report, "Year in Review: Realizing Change."

DCF unveiled the rebranding in July 2012. The brand was designed to stress the importance of community and family strength along with a new website that makes our services more accessible to Floridians. The new agency theme is “My Florida Families” and better shares the Department's mission of keeping families together while protecting the state's most vulnerable children and adults. The rebranding included a logo, website, social media and media relations to promote a family-friendly brand. The initiative earned an Image Award of Distinction and Judges' Award.

The 2012 “Year in Review” recapped the many policy changes and outreach that resulted in the identification of proven best practices across the state and implementation of strategies that improve business policies, drive efficient delivery of services and deliver better outcomes for Florida’s children and families. The 2012 “Year in Review” highlighted DCF’s successes in child welfare, adult protection, public assistance benefit programs, substance abuse and mental health, among other areas. The report received an Image Award. The report is available online at www.myflfamilies.com/2012 .
