DCF, Partner Organizations Hold Free Resource Fair and Distribute Food to Area Residents
Partnership promotes well-being and provides fresh, nutritious food to families and individuals in need

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Children and Families and Farm Share will host a free resource fair and food distribution for residents of Wakulla and surrounding counties on Saturday, February 7, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Harvest Fellowship Church in Crawfordville. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will bring together community organizations serving the Big Bend’s rural areas to connect residents with the necessary resources and services. Representatives from Senator Marco Rubio’s office, Big Bend Hospice, the Refuge House, the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office, and Wakulla ONE will be on-site to assist attendees. Wakulla County Department of Health will perform check-ups for car seats and Big Bend Cares will provide free HIV testing. 

Representatives from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will also be available to answer questions regarding income tax filing through the VITA program.

DCF and Farm Share are prepared to distribute over 34,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, dairy products and bread to approximately 350 families and individuals. Food will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Participants are encouraged to arrive early.
