Corey Simon Offers “Corey’s Kids” as Part of DCF’s Camps for Champions
~ Three camps in Northwest Florida round out schedule that allowed more than 1,000 children in foster care to go to summer camp ~
This year, the Department of Children and Families and our many partners across the state held more than a dozen Camps for Champions for children in foster care. These camps offered mentoring, team-building and leadership opportunities for these children.
Several camps focused on athletics, but others offered art classes, technology and more. All of the camps helped the youth share a special experience and build self-esteem and character.
For the second year, former FSU and NFL star tackle Corey Simon will host “Corey’s Kids” camp for more than 75 children on the campus of Florida State University. This camp will take place during the last week of July, along with an art camp in Pensacola and the opportunity for 20 children to go Ambition AIR Camp at the Naval Air Station Pensacola.
