The Department of Children and Family Services, Office of Child Care Regulation and Background Screening will be conducting two public hearings for Chapter 65C-39, F.A.C.  This new chapter of rule is titled "Summer Camp Program Standards."  The is an opportunity for the Department to receive comments from providers, community partners, coalition staff, stakeholders, and the general public related to the proposed rule language.  Please share this information with those agencies, providers, and provider organizations in your area that have an interest/investment in this issue.

The proposed rule language clarifies the requirements for summer camp programs to complete level 2 screening for camp employees and  requires summer camps to register with the Department for the purposes of tracking and managing background screening results for their employees.  The Department previously hosted two public workshops for the development of this rule and received feedback at that time.  Based on questions that were raised and suggestions made, the rule language has been edited and updated.  Review the updated rule language.
