On June 14  2013, Governor Scott signed the Nancy C. Detert Common Sense and Compassion Act into law.  This new law extending foster care to age 21 and restructuring the Independent Living program provides for an opportunity to re-examine the way data from youth in foster care and young adults transitioning to adulthood is collected, reported and used.  Chaired by  Independent Living Services Advisory Council member Allan Chernoff, the Data/Research Workgroup will review the current data related processes and report back to the Independent Living Services Advisory Council in August.
