Florida's Refugee Services program hosts its biennial Consultation, "Challenging Change," in Jacksonville, Florida, February 11-13, 2015. Speakers, presenters, and participants from throughout Florida will be joined by partners from federal agencies and colleagues from nearby states. More than 20 workshops led by expert practitioners will address issues regarding employment, mental health, community engagement, and refugee women. The Consultation will have a particular focus on refugee youth, especially high school age youth facing the challenges of graduating, dropping out, continuing their education, pursuing GEDs, or preparing to enter the work force. In addition, it will provide opportunities to meet and interact with national leaders in refugee resettlement, friends and colleagues at our opening reception and an evening banquet at which refugee cultural groups of various nationalities will perform.
