The mission of the Abuse, Neglect and Dependency (AND) Committee is to improve the coordination and delivery of services to families and children in Pinellas County . 


The AND Committee has over 25 years of history devoted to the prevention of child abuse and neglect, the promotion of awareness of abuse and neglect issues, and the presentation of a quality, affordable full day conference targeting professionals working with children at risk of or victims of abuse or neglect.   


This year, the theme of the conference is "Getting to The Core". Attendees will learn the impact untreated trauma have not only on the individual, but on the whole community. 


The keynote speaker, Tonier Cain, will illustrate the consequences that untreated trauma has on the individual, including mental health problems, addiction, homelessness and incarceration. Her story

evokes anger, frustration, sadness, and despair. It often triggers past traumas. It motivates, it empowers and it restores faith in humanity.
