Public Hearings - Summer Camp Program Standards

The Department of Children and Family Services, Office of Child Care Regulation and Background Screening will be conducting two public hearings for Chapter 65C-39, F.A.C.  This new chapter of rule is titled "Summer Camp Program Standards."  The is an opportunity for the Department to receive comments from providers, community partners, coalition staff, stakeholders, and the general public related to the proposed rule language.

ACCESS Florida Rule Workshop: Family-Related Medicaid

Proposed Rules 65A-1.205, 65A-1.701, 65A-1.702, 65A-1.703, 65A-1.705, 65A-1.716, F.A.C., revise the Family-Related Medicaid eligibility policies, procedures and forms used to implement the Florida Family-Related Medicaid Program so that the requirements of the Affordable Care Act that govern the Florida Family-Related Medicaid coverage groups are met. If requested in writing and not deemed unnecessary by the agency head, a rule development workshop will be held at the date, time and place shown above.

STOP Violence Against Women State Implementation Plan Planning Meeting

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) is sponsoring a public meeting to meet federal requirements for a grant administered by the DCF from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) STOP Violence Against Women State Implementation Plan. The Department's Domestic Violence Program is inviting grant partners, and community partnering agencies to attend a planning meeting on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 9am to 1pm. The meeting will be held at the Betty Easley Center located at 4075 Esplanade Way, Room 180, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399.

Childcare Public Workshops - Gold Seal Quality Care Program (Homes)

The Department of Children and Family Services, Office of Child Care Regulation and Background Screening will be conducting a public workshop for proposed rule development of Gold Seal Quality Care Program standards for Family Day Care Homes and Large Family Child Care Homes (65C-20). The public workshop setting is an opportunity for the Department to receive comments from providers, community partners, coalition staff, stakeholders, and the general public related to the proposed rule language.

Monroe County Community Alliance Meeting

The public are invited to attend the Community Alliance Meetings. The purpose of the Community Alliance is to design, strengthen, and advocate for a cohesive delivery system of care that will ensure the safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of the people served by the Department of Children and Family Services and other local providers in a manner that is family centered, community based, integrated, outcome oriented, culturally competent, and timely in its responses with an emphasis on prevention and intervention.

Independent Living Services Advisory Council Data/Research Workgroup Meeting

On June 14  2013, Governor Scott signed the Nancy C. Detert Common Sense and Compassion Act into law.  This new law extending foster care to age 21 and restructuring the Independent Living program provides for an opportunity to re-examine the way data from youth in foster care and young adults transitioning to adulthood is collected, reported and used.  Chaired by  Independent Living Services Advisory Council member Allan Chernoff, the Data/Research Workgroup will review the current data related processes and report back to the Independent Living Services Advisory Council in August.

ACCESS Florida Rule Workshop: SSI-Related Medicaid Post Eligibility Treatment of Income

Proposed Rule 65A-1.7141, F.A.C., is aligning policy with the Medicaid State Plan by amending the uncovered medical expense deduction policy and adding an additional personal needs allowance.  The Department is also adding the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, the Cystic Fibrosis and IBudget Florida waivers and their deduction policies.  These policies are used to determine an individual’s cost of care paid to nursing facilities and waiver providers in the post eligibility determination process.
