Annual Child Abuse Awareness Luncheon Presented by Friends of Joshua House Foundation and benefiting Joshua House, one of the Children’s Home Society of Florida’s premier residential programs for children who have been abused, abandoned and neglected.
This event is free and open to the public and will be held in Student Center Ballroom located at 200 6th Ave South in St. Petersburg.
A panel of young refugees including Negar Sabet, a high school senior from Iran who spoke at last year's World Refugee Day event, and Thomas Gebregergis, a refugee from Eritrea who is now a graduate student at USF, will speak about leaving their home countries and starting a new life here in Tampa Bay.

The 2013 Refugee Services Consultation will bring together contracted service providers, local and national refugee resettlement agencies, key federal officials, governmental and community partners, refugees, and other interested participants for discussions and presentations on a wide range of issues. The Consultation will provide opportunities to meet and interact with professional colleagues, refugees from throughout the state, and Ethnic Community Based Organization leaders. There will also be films and performances by refugee artists.
February 15, 2013, Charlotte County Human Trafficking Coalition and the Southwest Florida Regional Coalition Against Human Trafficking will present the Modern Day Slavery Training Session.
